Alabama Couple Who Appeared On ‘Maury’ Face Sexual Abuse Charges In Connection With 5-Year-Old

Brittany Day was arrested for failing to alert authorities after her daughter told her about Williams’ alleged abuse.

An Alabama couple facing sex abuse charges in connection with a young girl appeared on the “Maury” TV show last year, it’s emerged. David Anthony Williams and Brittany Day, from Anniston, starred in the episode entitled “I Love My Fiance and my Ex … Who’s My Baby’s Dad?” which was taped on Sept. 19, 2013. The episode, hosted by Maury Povich, aired on Oct. 7, 2013. Williams, 21, was arrested almost a year later on Oct. 3 on charges of first degree rape and sodomy involving Day’s 5-year-old daughter. It’s alleged he attacked the youngster in June.

Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson told that investigators were approached by other members of the girl’s family after she claimed the man was abusing her and said it was “a game.”

Day, 25, was then arrested a week later after cops learned her daughter had told her about the alleged abuse on “several occasions.”

But Day did not report it, Amerson said.

The child mentioned in the TV show is not the alleged victim in the case.

Day, released on $7,500 bond, faces an Oct. 30 court date. Williams remains in jail.

The child is now in protective custody through the Department of Human Resources.
