Townsquare Media, the media and entertainment company that operates 311 radio stations in 66 North American markets, has announced its acquisition of legacy hip-hop publication XXL, as well as men’s magazine King and lifestyle website Antenna. Online, the company also owns music aggregator Hype Machine, among others.

The company has announced that the print version of XXL will be no more, following the publication of its October issue.

“The acquisition of XXL, King and Antenna from Harris Publications represents the continued growth of Townsquare Media’s national digital asset portfolio and our commitment to the cultivation of influential brands and original multimedia content in music and entertainment,” said Bill Wilson, Townsquare Media’s chief content officer, in a statement.

The news comes on the heels of news at another longstanding hip-hop and R&B-associated publication, Vibe, having its print version shuttered by parent company SpinMedia last week after an ongoing series of company shake-ups. Last year, the company also ceased printing the longstanding SPIN.
