Strong Arm Steady Member Mitchy Slick Allegedly Arrested On Human Trafficking Charges

Mitchy_Slick-StandardA San Diego hip-hop musician who was arrested in Marin County is accused of kidnapping a woman in Southern California and holding her captive at a house in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Charles Mitchell, 40, known as Mitchy Slick, remained in the Marin County Jail in San Rafael on Wednesday. He was booked Tuesday on suspicion of kidnapping, human trafficking, participating in a criminal street gang, making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm, according to the jail website. Bail was set at $1.5 million.

Mitchell surrendered at the jail Tuesday. A warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 22, the Marin Independent Journal reported.

Marin County sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman told the newspaper that investigators searched a house that day on Oak Knoll Drive in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood of San Anselmo where he said the woman was held captive.

The community is about 20 miles north of San Francisco. According to real estate websites, the house is valued at more than $1.6 million.

Authorities did not disclose in what city the woman was allegedly abducted or how long she reportedly had been held. The case is being reviewed by the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.

Last month, Mitchell was a nominee in two categories for the 2014 San Diego Music Awards, best hip-hop artist and best hip-hop album. The winners will be announced Oct. 6.
